Morning Dew by the National. A lot to say about this song. First, it’s from a tribute 4 CD set to the Grateful Dead put together by the National’s Dessner twins. I bought the set from a merch table without having first heard any of it because I have such respect for what the talented Dessner’s can do … Aaron Dessner performs on Lisa Hannigan’s latest, for example. I first heard the song ‘Morning Dew’ in the mid 1960s performed by Tim Rose. It turns out that the song was written by a Canadian named Bonnie Dobson although Rose took credit for it in the early days, and maybe does still. Here it is.
