Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway

I enjoy watching various performers on YouTube, but for me I don’t need to see an abstract conception of the song I’m hearing, or a closeup of the performer eating a hot dog; I want to see them play! Never more so than for bluegrass.

Here is a compilation of 70+ bluegrass and traditional country videos, and all of them feature the artist in performance. The list is in alphabetical order by artist for easy indexing. At most, there are 3 performances for any one artist.

Individual performances that stood out for me include:

  • AJ Lee and Blue Summit, who keep getting better and better,
  • The Arcadian Wild, more indie-folk than bluegrass, but with traditional instruments,
  • Billy Strings, recent, extended concert performance of ‘Turmoil and Tinfoil’,
  • several collaborations featuring Tommy Emmanuel,
  • Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, cosplay performance of White Rabbit,
  • Sierra Hull, a beautifully played and sung, “Beautifully Out Of Place”, very much not out of place here,
  • Steernvanger, singing in Gronings, bet you’ve never heard of them, or any Gronings praten for that matter.

And performances also from: Alison Brown with special banjo playing guest, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Brothers Comatose, Cactus Blossoms, Del McCoury, Della Mae, Derina Harvey Band, Dierks Bentley, Esther Rose, Gaby Moreno, Greensky Bluegrass, Jason Isbell, Kentucky Eileen, Lone Bellow, Margo Price, Mountain Grass Unit, Murphy Beds, Nickel Creek, Old Crow Medicine Show, R.L. Boyce, Rayland Baxter, Riley Downing, Rodney Crowell, Rural Alberta Advantage, Sierra Ferrell, Steernvanger, Terri Clark, Tim Baker, Trampled by Turtles, Twisted Pine, Tyler Boone, Watchhouse, Watkins Family Hour and Wilco.

Finally, the list raps up with a concert length performance by the Wildwoods, whose recent album I played a lot this past year.

The main youtube playlist can be played on a big screen TV or a touchpad with headphones for an immersive concert-like experience.

Here is the link to the video performance playlist, over 70 recent performances.

You can also access the playlist with any youtube app, like the one on most big screen TVs, by searching for ‘Artsfols 2023’ and selecting the “Artsfols 2023 Bluegrass Sessions” playlist.
