Some of the simple songs wear the longest. They may not have a hook or a big note that grabs you the first time through, but go down easy with a simple message, beautiful harmonies and straight forward arrangement. I would put Dougie Maclean’s “She loves me when I try” in that category, beautifully performed here with the understated but grippingly lovely harmonies of the Mae Trio.
